Time for a Bump Check
Monday, October 31, 2005, 08:03 PM - Life
People have been asking me for another picture of Erin's tummy. Here's one that I just took tonight...

Isn't she beautiful? I think so.

We only have a couple of weeks left to go before Sophia is born...YEAH!

I'll keep everyone posted as much as possible. As soon as she is out I'll have an update posted (with pictures) most likely within 48 hours.

Peace and Love,
Jeremy

She's Almost Here...She's Almost Here...She's Almost Here!!!

She's ALMOST HERE!!!

I appologize for the lack of updates. It's been a crazy few weeks. Erin and I have been doing everything we can to get ready for Sophia's big debut.

We had another ultrasound two weeks ago Thursday. She's measuring a little big. She's about 6 lbs now which is a bit ahead of normal for 35 weeks. Erin's doctor thinks that she'll be between 8 and 9 lbs if she makes it to her due date...no one thinks she'll make it that far. We've all come to the conclusion that Sophia will likely be here a week early.

I've posted some new pictures from the ultrasound here: Ultrasound Pictures

Here's one of them:

Freaky isn't it? It has taken me the longest time to get my head around the fact that I actually know what she looks like now. It's not like I have an "idea"...I really know! The general consensus is that she looks like Erin, but with my nose.

At this point I think we've got everything we need. I only have the swing and the highchair left to assemble and then that will be done. The stroller wasn't too bad, though I have to admit that it was a little confusing at first. After about 10 minutes of reading through the directions I finally figured it out.

There are some more pictures of her room here: Sophia's Room

It's pretty much done. Erin's parents came over on Saturday afternoon and hung the valance over the window and cleaned the carpet.

Thanks to my mom and Erin's mom for taking the time do wash a ton of baby clothes!

So...outside of the little things, we've pretty much gotten everything we need to get our parent-thing on.

Hope all is well! More updates soon...

Gary Coleman should be in every movie
Monday, October 10, 2005, 09:30 PM - Rants
While at dinner this evening we got onto the topic of recasting movies. Personally, I think Gary Coleman would have made a great Frodo in the Lord of the Rings. Come to think of it. I want to remake The Lord of the Rings trilogy with Gary Coleman playing EVERY part. Imagine it! Gary Coleman as Gandalf fighting Gary Coleman as the Balrog! Gary Coleman and Aragorn vs. Gary Coleman as Sauron. Gary Coleman as Gimli and Legolas vs. the Urukhai played by...yes...Gary Coleman. No digital effects...no shrinking or heavy makeup. Just Gary Coleman in all his 3 foot glory!

Yet another reason why I should run everything!

Sophia's Room
Friday, October 7, 2005, 12:04 PM - Life
The crib is together and I have to say that it wasn't that bad. I had it together in under an hour.

All that's left for the room is to put up the wall decorations and clear out the clutter that is coming from the showers.

Click here to see the pictures of the room thus far.

No Longer Sick and Finishing the Nursery
Sunday, October 2, 2005, 09:46 PM - Life
If anyone's wondering, I was sick through most of my vacation and unfortunately I managed to get Erin sick. She started with the same symptoms that I had last weekend and she's finally feeling better.

Good news is that Sophia's room is almost finished. I was able to get all of the remaining crap out of the room and get the dresser and changing table unpacked. It's funny...this is the cleanest that the room has been since we moved in 2 years ago. The next thing to be done is to get her crib put together and there are some wall decorations that need to go up and, dare I say it, the room will be done!!!

The time has come. With only 7 1/2 weeks left before Sophia is born Erin and I are taking stock of what we have and what we have left to get before she gets here. It'll be easier after the shower(s). At that point we'll know exactly what we have left of the essential items to get. Honestly, we're ready and I can't wait to test out my daddy skills.

There is more to report but my brain is rebelling and not allowing me to put anymore coherent sentences together. I'll post more in the next couple of days...who knows, I might even have some nursery pictures to post...
