To Find out or Not to Find out...
Friday, June 24, 2005, 12:22 PM - Life
So here's the deal. Erin and I went for the 18 week ultrasound this morning. This was the one where we could find out the gender of Baby Thompson. It's funny how everyone has their own opinion on whether or not we should find out the sex of the baby. Erin and I have pretty much said from the beginning that we wanted to find out....

So we did...

It's a GIRL! Her name will be Sophia Jennifer Thompson.

Here is the link to the other Ultrasound Images

We did get a video and I'll be posting that as soon as possible. To tide everyone over Click Here to hear an Mp3 of little Sophia's heart beating.

Love to all.

Gotta Catch My Breath
Wednesday, June 15, 2005, 11:19 PM - Life
I had one of those moments again tonight...

Erin's been able to really feel the baby move for more than a few days now. She's been grabbing my hand and placing it on her belly when she feels it in an attempt to get me to feel a little of what she feels. I haven't felt anything...that is until tonight.

It was light and I almost didn't feel lke I felt anything but it happened again. Just a light brush against my fingers.

Amazing...I don't think I was able to breathe for several seconds. This experience of having a baby has been the most amazing of my life. There are times when I just don't believe that this is happening, but it is. Amazing...that's the only word to describe it.

Back to Work in the Morning
Sunday, June 5, 2005, 10:38 PM - Life
One last entry before the end of my vacation. I'm torn. I want to go back to work, but I don't want to go back to work. I miss the daily challenge, but I don't miss commuting to and from work everyday *gag*. I like the pay check, but I barely get to spend it before it's gone...ah, the perils of adulthood.

One thing makes all of it worth while. I have everything I'll ever need to make me happy.

I'm off to the land of sleep.

Zoo and Stuff
Wednesday, June 1, 2005, 11:40 PM - Life
Erin and I spent a couple of hours at the zoo today. It turned out to be a perfect day for it. Of course I did take some photos...

The rest of the pics are available here: Today at the Zoo

Funny story...

We had just walked into the zoo and we were making our way past one of the first cages. This one had a type of hawk in it. Beautiful bird. Erin and I are standing there admiring this bird when we here from behind us..."Oh that's so sad. Poor bird. That's so sad." We turned around and there is a hoochie (aka white girl, late teens, early 20's complete with tight shirt and low-rider ass-crack jeans...you know the type, speech peppered with "like" and "oh my gawd") and her boyfriend. They walk away from the cage and so do we...Erin and I look at each other and just roll our eyes. We make our way around to the elephant pen. Now, I love the elephants, so I was really happy to see that they were outside. Of course who do we run into...again? That's right, hoochie and pal! Now she starts in again...this time with, "Oh that's so sad. It's so hot and there's no shade. Poor elephants. That's soooo saaad." *gag* Erin looks over at me and says...and I quote, "yes, because there is soooo much shade on the plains of Africa." *he he* I love my wife... I had to laugh. If you're just going to complain about how sad it is that these animals are in locked cages, why the f*ck do you come to the zoo? Obviously the rest of us don't mind. Leave your PETA crap at home and go buy some pants that fit...in the words of my wife...CRACK KILLS!!! or at least it scares small children.

In other news...

I took Erin's first pregnancy photo the other day. Here is one of them...

I think she is so beautiful pregnant.
The rest of the photos are available here: Erin's First Pregnancy Pics

I'm done for now. Stay Tuned!
